INSIDE RUTO'S VISIT TO TANZANIA. WHAT IS IT FOR KENYA
President William Ruto visited Tanzania early this month on 4th May 2026. The visit was an interesting one because it would be the second time in 24 four years a sitting head of state in the east Africa community would address the parliament of another state. The last time this happened was in 2002 when Moi delivered a farewell speech before his retirement.
His address to the Tanzania parliament was important as it showed a gesture intended to solidify a new era of bilateral relations.
In 2021, President Samia Suluhu addressed the Kenyan parliament, with this year's address viewed as a formal reciprocation.
